State Rail’s three (3) storey building has an external steel staircase that is made up of grated step treads and checker plate landings that are very slippery, especially during wet weather.
Staircare supplied and installed SC-R70#5 stair tread nosing, fibreglass reinforced with heavy duty silicon carbide anti slip grit to all grated stairs.
On advise of StairCare, State Rail decided not to use the more temporary anti slip tape on the landings, but rather opt for StairCare SC-R 90 fibreglass reinforced anti slip strips to offer a long term slip resistance solution.
